General Dynamics Information Technology Backend Business Analyst & Tester (REMOTE) in Rockville, Maryland

GDIT is looking for an analyst and tester to support a client’s intranet initiative. The developer will deliver innovative solutions for improving the effectiveness, reach, and content of the intranet site to improve the effectiveness of the client’s workforce. Our team will sustain, expand and improve the Drupal-based site with static and dynamic content, including integration with other internal and external sources.

The candidate will be responsible for working across the software life-cycle, with an emphasis on analysis and testing. As such, this role requires a combination of understanding and capturing the requirements of the system, and to validate the implementation of those requirements through testing. The candidate will apply behavior-driven development (BDD) approaches to align these analysis and testing activities. The best candidate has a strong understanding of industry trends and using agile methodologies for analysis and testing and applying user experience/user interface (UI/UX) design methods. The candidate will work collaboratively with the team to incorporate testing as part of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) activities.

The candidate should be able to:

  • Capture and express requirements with a variety of techniques including BDD-style specifications, user stories, user cases and mockups

  • Conduct interviews and studies with product owners, users and other stakeholders to identify candidate requirements

  • Collaborate on user experience/user interface (UX/UI) activities to create compelling product designs

  • Describe and execute test cases

  • Write automated tests using tools such as SOAPUI or Postman. The ability to write tests against web user interfaces using tools like Selenium is a bonus

  • Collaborate with the team on agile activities including to estimation, iterative planning and retrospectives

  • Manage requirements using a backlog, and collaborate with product-owners to prioritize the backlog

  • Manage the flow of development from idea to release
