Job Details HOSPITALIST JOB SUMMARY: The per diem Hospitalist can cover various shifts during the week. The shifts can be either 10 or 12 hours, with options of day, night or swing. The hospitalist is responsible for admissions, discharges and thus the overall daily management of patients admitted to the hospitalist service. HOSPITALIST RESPONSIBILITIES: Communicate and work collaboratively with the clinical team to ensure maximum delivery of quality care to all patients Providing counsel to patients on their health concerns Documenting care delivered in the hospital's medical record system Conforming to hospital-stipulated policies and procedures, Corporate Compliance, and HIPAA programs Participate in medical staff educational programs Be an active supporter of new programs HOSPITALIST REQUIREMENTS: Licensed to practice medicine in New York State Board Certified or Board eligible within 3 years and predominantly trained in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine New resident graduates are welcomed BLS and ACLS certified by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
