PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Responsible for the proper movement, handling, and accounting of inventory and goods in the warehouse. Performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, distributing and order fulfillment of merchandise, products, materials, parts, supplies and equipment.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Active involvement of all cycle counting and physical inventories and generation of applicable documentation/reports.

  • Checks goods received and for distribution against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of goods and rejects unsatisfactory items.

  • Responsible for the efficient picking/packing/shipping of outgoing supplies.

  • Set-up and produce various kits per the schedule and the BOMs.

  • Move inventory and goods using warehouse equipment if needed.

  • Support department requests for assistance.

  • Ship packages using various courier shipping platforms.

  • Responsible for the resupply of the laboratory.

  • Prepare and maintain centrifuges for shipment per the schedule.

  • Reviews customer orders, examines, stocks and distributes merchandise, products and materials.

  • Loads and unloads trucks.

  • Assists in Physical Inventory as scheduled.

  • Operates all material handling equipment (including forklifts, electric and manual pallet jacks, hand trucks).

  • Maintains a clean, neat, safe work area (i.e. sweeping, emptying trash, general cleanup).

  • Distributes internal orders when requested.

  • Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped. File all transactional paperwork on time and close out all transactional paperwork daily.

  • Process all computer transactions needed for all duties and activities.

  • May refer to senior staff for assistance with higher level problems that may arise.

  • Normally follows established procedures on routine work. General supervision & instructions are given for routine work. Requires detailed instructions on new assignments.

  • Follows all safety rules and guidelines.

  • Escalates issues to supervisor for resolution, as deemed necessary.

  • Assist with various projects as assigned by direct supervisor.

  • Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours, and be able to lift 60 lbs.

  • Able to bend, climb, and reach over head with arms and hands, for all levels of shipping/receiving support.

  • Able to operate a pallet jack and other warehouse equipment as needed.

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma required.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 1 – 2 years’ related experience.

  • Certifications for operating different warehouse equipment preferred.

  • A solid knowledge of warehouse procedures.

  • Must be able to work in a high pressure environment in a team structure as well as independently.

  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills as well as an ability to work well with others.

  • Must have the ability to work with minimal instruction and supervision.

  • Must be able to use various shipping/receiving equipment within first six (6) months of service.

  • Working knowledge of basic computers skill; familiar enough to perform all the computer transactions required for the duties and activities of the position.

  • Must be self-motivated, dependable, reliable, customer focused, results driven, detail oriented and an optimistic problem solver

  • Must be able to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time efficiently and effectively.
