Kuehne+Nagel Sea Logistics Customer Care Specialist in Rockland, Massachusetts

Would you like to launch your career with one of the most successful logistics organizations worldwide? Here at Kuehne+Nagel, our Rockland, MA location is looking for a new Customer Care Specialist to join our Sea Logistics team.

Your Role

Reporting to the Sea Logistics Customer Care Manager you will be responsible for the coordination of sea export shipments which includes opening export files, production of internal documentation, updating export statuses, assisting and advising customers of Arrival, arranging deliveries, processing invoices (including price conversions and verifying shipment weight and volume), dealing with e-mail queries from Kuehne+Nagel Overseas offices as well as ensuring an excellent standard of data accuracy.

Your Responsibilities

  • You will coordinate with shippers, truckers, steamship lines and Kuehne+Nagel offices for the export of shipments including arranging for pick-up or inland transportation, booking, document preparation (bill of lading, Kuehne+Nagel invoicing, certificate of origin, export declaration and/or AES, if applicable) forwarding, follow-up with tracking and tracing to destination and data quality requirement.

  • You will maintain communication with vendor, shipper, customer, carrier, and Kuehne+Nagel overseas offices throughout the process and choosing proper routing appropriate to the customer's needs.

  • Negotiate cost-effective rates with service providers to ensure maximum profitability.Maintain SOP (standard operating procedures) and customer profiles including key contacts, special requirements, contract rates and preferred routings/services/carriers.

  • Participate in quotes for overseas offices as requested.

  • Review information published on K+N's Intranet system daily. Immediately reporting problems, operation disputes or discrepancies to a supervisor, manager, divisional manager, or branch manager.

  • You will resolve issues respective to meeting client requirements, data input - general customer service inquiries related to tracking & tracing.

  • You will resolve billing discrepancies and discrepancies against client SOP's.

Your Skills and Experiences

  • 2 years of experience in freightforwarding.

  • 3+ years of current workexperience in sea freight forwarding.

  • You have working knowledgeof domestic and international geography including countries, major cities,seaport.

  • Basic knowledge of U.S.Administration Regulations (FAA, FMC, EAR, Hazmat) and other governmentagency requirements.

  • You have the ability to work from the office 5 days per week.

  • You have the ability to attend New Hire Orientation in Detroit, MI during your second week of employment.
