Basic Qualifications to Apply

  • Wastewater treatment experience or operator certification is strongly preferred.
  • Water treatment experience or operator certification is strongly preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Live within a 35-mile distance of Kalkaska and Grayling MI.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes working overtime, holidays, and weekends, and being on-call 24 hours a day for emergencies on a rotating basis.
  • Must possess a valid MI driver's license in good standing, also must maintain a license in good standing at all times to maintain employment.
  • Most positions will also require a criminal background check and a clean history.

This full-time position will cover the Wastewater & Water Treatment Facility. Duties will include but are not limited to; sample collection and laboratory analysis, control of chemical, biological and mechanical processes, mechanical troubleshooting, and maintenance, tending and maintaining process equipment, maintaining records and reporting, general housekeeping, and grounds maintenance.

The qualified candidate will have a mechanical aptitude and the ability to work in a physically demanding job that requires both indoor and outdoor work. The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic with experience that demonstrates the ability to work independently and interact effectively with co-workers, clients, and the public.

The starting wage for this position is $18.00 per hour but will be based on experience.
