Description: A Project Engineer position is currently available at Belcan in Rockford, Illinois. This is a full-time direct job with benefits. To be considered, you will need a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or similar and two to five years of experience in project engineering and/or mechanical or electrical engineering roles. The successful candidate will lead test projects and estimate budgets and schedule. This customer site designs, assembles, and tests cutting-edge military and commercial aerospace products including power generation and control systems.

Job Duties:

  • Project management skills. Experience with Microsoft Project.

  • Primary role is to lead and serve as the hub of communication for projects in a test lab for electric power systems.

  • Responsible for budget and schedule.

  • Works independently and as part of a cross-functional engineering team ensuring work is completed on-time, within quality standards, per specifications and contracts, and within budget constraints.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams from engineering, quality, and operations to design and implement engineering and qualifications tests.

Qualifications:

  • Two to Five years of experience in Project Engineering or Mechanical or Electrical Engineering roles.

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar.

  • Working knowledge of electric power systems.

  • Working knowledge of test labs.

  • Experience with estimating budgets and schedules.

  • Proven ability to lead a technical team in product test and development.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple assignments.

  • Due to the nature of our work, US Citizenship is required.

Desired but not required skills:

  • Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS).

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $70,000 to $90,000. Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
