Job Description:

Collins Aerospace is looking for a talented Project Engineer with experience leading projects and/or products in the electro-mechanical domain.

Area of Expertise:

  • Demonstrated experience defining, managing, and executing projects of varying complexity to include cross function team building/management, IMS generation and maintenance, status reporting, and executing against program requirements

  • Demonstrated Integrated Product Team / Earned Value Management (EVMS) / CAM experience

  • Experience detailing Design Status to internal and external audiences.

  • Demonstrated Experience with Design, Development and Test in such areas as FPGA closed loop control systems, actuation systems, and power electronics

  • Understanding requirement management and design processes of components, sub-assembly, and assemblies to include application of proper design definition required for conversion to drawings/layouts

Responsibilities:

  • Performs Integrated Program Team Lead / Control Account Management (CAM) Duties as assigned

  • Manages SE Level 5 Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) in accordance with Collins Aerospace Earned Value Management System (EVMS) monthly business rhythm, including but not limited to; calculating Estimates to Complete (ETC), processing Budget Change Requests (BCR), Performance Index Report (PIR) reviews and preparing cost and/or schedule variance analyses and corrective actions as needed

  • Generates work packages and planning packages and collaborate with finance to open charge numbers

  • Demonstrates active risk management by identifying risks and opportunities as well as develop mitigation strategies to cost and/or schedule to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives

  • Reviews project and budget status, manages schedule, and drive EVMS compliance to contract requirements and ensure on-time deliverables are met

  • Directs the work of employees assigned on projects in technical, manufacturing, and administrative areas

  • Provides input to the integrated master schedule for project(s)

  • Prepares proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract

  • Responsible for entire projects with significant scope and complexity to include Design/Release plans

  • Supports the development and maintenance of guidance/work instruction supporting the engineering design/modeling efforts

  • Contributes to the program, department, or business unit by applying their advanced knowledge of one or more functional areas

Qualifications / Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Preferred Productivity Tools Experience:

  • MS Project (other scheduling tools)

  • EVMS Applications

  • SAP / MRP applications

  • Teamcenter / ALM /PLM applications

  • NX Design/Modeling Experience

  • ANSYS/Fluent/Hand Calculation

  • Cost Account and Earned Value Management experience

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
