Job Summary

One position available which can be filled as a Measurement Controls & Communications Technician or Senior Measurement Controls & Communications Technician. This position will be located in our Rocks Springs office in Rock Springs, WY.

Measurement Controls & Communication Technician:

This role installs, tests, maintains and repairs equipment (electronic gas measurement, telemetering, microwave radio, satellite equipment, chromatographs, etc.) to facilitate effective telecommunication, gas measurement and remote control operations. Directs and participates in installation of telecommunications equipment. Inspects, repairs and calibrates equipment. Interprets and implements gas measurement and SCADA device installation specifications. Performs design, programming, installation and operation of electronic gas measurement and control systems. Inspects and tests facilities and equipment to identify malfunctions. Troubleshoots problems, replaces equipment/components and repairs, calibrates and maintains equipment. Ensures installations and equipment comply with regulations. May train MCandC Technician Trainees. May supervise MCandC projects. Maintains interactive work relationship with Gas Measurement personnel, Specialists and Engineers to accurately and effectively complete job responsibilities.

Senior Measurement Controls & Communication Technician:

This role installs, tests, maintains and repairs equipment (electronic gas measurement, telemetering, microwave radio, satellite equipment, chromatographs, etc.) to facilitate effective telecommunication, gas measurement and remote control operations. Ensures installations and equipment comply with regulations. Assists in training MC&C Technician Trainees. Supervises MC&C projects. Monitors and evaluates technology advancements. Maintains interactive work relationship with Gas Measurement personnel, Specialists and Engineers to accurately and effectively complete job responsibilities.

Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Measurement Controls & Communication Technician:

  • 2 + years electronics experience and/or measurement/control/communications experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of current electronic, radio, digital and remote control theory.

  • Knowledge of regulations and standards (FCC, FAA, AGA, API, NEC, etc.).

  • Ability to carry equipment and parts (50 - 100 pounds) from vehicle to work site, possibly over rough terrain.

  • Ability to interpret installation manuals, technical instructions, wiring diagrams and blueprints.

  • Ability to prepare technical reports and repair / maintenance records.

  • Ability to perform arithmetic and algebraic calculations.

  • Basic computer and networking skills.

Senior Measurement Controls & Communication:

  • 5+ years if related experience.

  • Knowledge of electronic, radio, digital and remote control theory.

  • Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards (FCC, FAA, AGA, API, NEC, etc.).

  • Ability to carry equipment and parts (50 - 100 pounds) from vehicle to work site, possible over rough terrain.

  • Ability to interpret installation manuals, technical instructions, wiring, diagrams and blueprints.

  • Ability to prepare technical reports and repair/maintenance records.

  • Ability to perform arithmetic and algebraic calculations.

  • Basic computer and networking skills.

  • 5-8 years or more electronics experience including measurement, control, communications preferred.

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Associate

  • Preferred Discipline(s): Technical, Electronics

Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above.
