Job Description

Veolia Water Technologies, Inc. Dayton is currently seeking a High Purity Water Technician to work in the Rock Hill/York South Carolina & Charlotte North Carolina area.

This position is responsible for controlling the treatment plants, machines, and equipment to purify and clarify water for permitted industrial uses. This is a “hands on'' position, with responsibilities for troubleshooting and repair of water systems. The work schedule for this position will vary, it will include working and being on call over some weekends. This position is 40 hours a week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operates and controls electric motors, pumps, and valves to regulate flow of water through the treatment plant.

  • Collect and test water samples to determine concentration levels and impurities.

  • Perform all scheduled maintenance, service, and new installations of water treatment equipment.

  • Responsible for accurate record keeping of client data such as residual content of chemicals, water turbidity, and water pressure.

  • Comply with all client safety parameters.

  • Coordinate with other Technicians throughout the customer plant in order to maintain the plants water treatment equipment.

  • Consult with Veolia Team members in the operations of the High purity water plant to determine the best treatment for the High purity water.

  • Coordinate with Veolia Water purchasing department to order High Purity Water treatment supplies, such as equipment and chemicals, in order to maintain the client’s High Purity Water treatment equipment.

  • Compile data for daily & weekly operating reports to Veolia management and client management.

  • Troubleshoot problems within client’s High Purity Water treatment equipment and coordinate repairs as necessary.

  • Advise clients on the appropriate methods for hazardous waste spill clean ups, recycle programs, energy savings programs, and water usage reduction.

  • Be able to push and lift 50 lbs or more.

  • On Call for scheduled weekday & weekends is required for this position (Remote Access provided)

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Must be proficient with MS Office and/or Google Apps.

  • Must be knowledgeable of piping, electrical, pumps and pumping systems.

  • Must be familiar with PLC controlled systems, and prefer experience with Allen-Bradley HMI program interface, as well as RS View Remote Viewing software.

  • Must be familiar with on-line instrumentation (Sodium Analyzers, Silica Analyzers, TOC Analyzers, pH, Conductivity) equipment is preferred.

  • Must possess 2-5 years experience in a Water / trades environment, and preferred to have experience with Reverse Osmosis, Ultra-filtration, or IONX.

  • A water treatment license is not required but preferred.
