Job Title: Work Center Supervisor

Position Type: Part-Time, Day shift.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-12pm (20 hrs. a week)

SUMMARY: Responsible for day-to-day operations of LAICO Industries and Classified Scanning and Shredding including business development and assessment; licensing and certifications; LAICO Café; ISO quality control; inventory management; the upkeep of the facility and all equipment; interpreting and writing procedures; being on-call for the security alarm system, and assisting the Business Manager in supervising the employees, activities, and operation of LAICO Industries.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Assist Business Manager with the development and day to day operations of LAICO Industries.

  • Assists the Business Manager with supervision, training, oversight, and evaluation of assigned staff. Assigned staff will include but are not limited to, Temp Production Workers, Production Workers, Route Drivers, Scanner Operators, and Document Destruction Technicians.

  • Assists the Business Manager with assuring all areas of responsibility to meet OPWDD requirements, Department of Transportation regulations, Department of Labor regulations, Occupational Safety and Health Administration and any other governing body that provides regulations and laws applicable to LAICO Industries.

  • Provides coverage in the shredding, scanning, route driver, and production positions when an employee calls off or as applicable.

  • Prepares and monitors the route drivers routes and adjusts improve efficiencies and meet customer needs.

  • Provides the appropriate oversight to ensure production, inspection, packaging, routing, and shipping procedures are completed according to contract specifications.

  • Assures for the safe and efficient storage of LAICO Industries supplies and equipment. Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies needed to fulfill contract obligations. Keeps accurate inventory records.

  • Assists the Business Manager in performing time studies and other analysis to determine areas that require improvement or revision.

  • Participates as an active team member for all LAICO Industries marketing, management, and staff meetings.

  • Serves as a role model while promoting positive, professional behaviors and interactions for all staff and consumers. Maintains neat appearance, hygiene, and grooming.

  • Assures proper maintenance and repairs of equipment and vehicles.

  • Performs all other necessary duties as assigned and assures compliance with agency policies, procedures, and all regulatory requirements.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree; or Associates Degree and one year of related experience; or High School diploma or equivalent and two years or related production and /or human services experience. Must have a valid New York State Driver's License, a reliable vehicle and meet Lifetime Assistance vehicle operator requirements.
