In support of PPCWNY’s mission, theTraining Coordinatorhas responsibility for planning and directing the development and delivery of internal and external educational services of the Agency. The Training Coordinator will work with the Manager of Outreach & Education to develop, evaluate, and implement community education and training curricula in accordance with the policies and goals of the Agency.

Essential Functions

  • Designs and evaluates sexuality education curricula for In Control members and other community groups

  • Assists Manager of Outreach & Education in the monitoring and evaluation of programs

  • Assists Manager of Outreach & Education in the monitoring, evaluation, and supervision Programs Department education staff

  • Facilitates scheduling and assigning staff with educational programs and presentations

  • Works collaboratively with the Finger Lakes Region School Boards of Education staff to develop and evaluate appropriate curricula

  • Promotes and facilitates educational and informational services to teachers, students, and parents in selected schools

  • Responsible for the development, review, selection, ordering, and evaluation of resource materials which enhance education programming and the Agency’s role as a community resource and training center

  • Markets CAPP and PPCWNY education programs in coordination PPCWNY’s Marketing and Communications Department by developing and maintaining community contacts via phone, mail, media, networking, etc.

  • Ensures all agency programming and curricula is current and functioning as measured by monthly reports

  • Schedules regular meetings with Manager of Outreach & Education to report on projects, goals, progress, and assistance needed

  • Represents InControl in a professional manner within appropriate forums, coalitions, etc., and uses those opportunities to increase participation in PPCWNY programs and to further agency goals

  • Shows respect to all internal and external customers for differences in backgrounds, lifestyles, viewpoints and needs in areas such as race, gender, ethnicity, creed, sexual orientation and others

Other Accountability Activities

  • Aids in the orientation of newly hired Finger Lakes Region education staff

  • Supports the development of Train the Trainer programs for PPCWNY Finger Lakes Region education staff, coalition members, and other professionals

  • Facilitates staff development and training for staff when appropriate

  • Supports the Programs department in maintaining agency resources

  • Prepares relevant sections of government grants as necessary

  • Attends educational and training seminars relevant to job responsibilities

  • Performs other duties as assigned by Manager of Outreach & Education

Requirements

Qualifications

Applicants must possess the following qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience):

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Health Education, Social Science or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in family planning or sexual education curriculum development and delivery strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • General PC skills needed (MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid NYS driver’s license not in jeopardy of being revoked

  • Planned Parenthood seeks candidates who have proficiency in one of the following languages, including but not limited to: Spanish, Nepali, Arabic, and Swahili

Work ScheduleThis is a full-time, 40 hour a week, position; regular schedule will be Monday – Friday with occasional weekends.

Benefits & CompensationAt PPCWNY, we are committed to equitable compensation practices and transparency. In alignment with these efforts, the pay for this position ranges from $22.92-$26.63/hour.
