Job Summary

We are currently seeking a Senior Structural Engineer / Project Manager to join our Bridge Sector in the Rochester area. The incumbent candidate will have the opportunity to participate in a broad portfolio of exciting projects both locally and across the United States.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Structural design for structures such as bridges, viaducts, dams, locks and tunnels, using a variety of materials, including steel, concrete, precast concrete and timber.

  • Development of design concepts and reports.

  • Preparation of drawings for projects and assignments of varying complexity and scope in accordance with standards (i.e., AASHTO, NYSDOT, NYSTA) and department procedures.

  • Functions in a key technical role in both conventional and alternative delivery bridge projects.

  • Ability to lead multi-discipline bridge projects for public sector clients.

  • Proposal development/preparation.

  • Assures the timely delivery of quality work products and services.

  • Work with Clients such as New York State DOT, New York State Thruway Authority, New York Power Authority (Canal Corporation) and various counties throughout New York State; and design/build contractors.

  • Active participation in business development.

  • Presents and/or assists at public presentations on technical/design issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required from an engineering program accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, Inc (EAC/ABET).

  • Master's Degree would be considered a plus.

  • 8 - 12+ years of structural design / management experience in bridges and specialty structures; Design-Build experience is a plus.

  • Must be a licensed Professional Engineer in NY or be able to be licensed in NY.

  • Proficiency with computer analysis and design software; Experience with MicroStation a plus.

  • Client focused, always striving to give clients the best solutions.

  • Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence.


Additional Information

TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of$97,000 - $146,000 annually for this position and local market.
