Sutherland is seeking a dynamic and dedicated professional to join us as a Senior Benefits/Total Rewards Manager to oversee our benefits programs for our US and Canada regions. This role gets to:

  • The Sr. Benefits/Total Rewards Manager will get to:

  • Oversee Employee Benefit Programs: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; obtaining qualified opinions; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions

  • Manage day-to-day benefits administration, including billing, enrollment, and changes

  • Recommend benefits programs to management by studying employee requirements and trends and developments in benefits offered by other organizations; Support management's decision making by analyzing benefit options and predicting future costs

  • Keep Sutherland aligned: Establish and maintain all required compliance documents as they relate to US benefits including benefit plan documents, contracts, and summary plan documents

  • Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors and providers and ensure procedures are followed to minimize costs

  • Provide guidance regarding benefits enrollment and utilization

  • Design and execute employee communications relating to benefits

  • Monitor employee eligibility for benefits in accordance with company guidelines

  • Develop and administer the employee benefits package, including health, life, disability, and retirement plans

  • Respond to inquiries, troubleshoot benefit issues, and resolve conflicts

  • Report benefits-related data and trends to senior leadership

Our most successful candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field

  • 5-8 years of Benefits Administration leadership experience. Specifically, for the US and Canada

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local legal requirements in terms of Benefits Administration

  • Highly knowledgeable with all aspects of employee benefits programs

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Able to work independently with minimal direction

  • Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills

  • Capacity to think strategically and innovatively.
