Job Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Note: During the semester the approximate hourly commitment is 5 hours/week for each assigned section. Given the nature of the role, exact time spent on job duties will vary based on the week in the semester.

With your assigned class section of 24-26 students:

  • Co-facilitate a dialogue-based, Plan-Do-Reflect experiential learning cycle for 14 class meetings of 50 minutes, once per week

  • Participate in active learning experiences hosted by campus partners

  • Provide one-on-one ½ hour coaching sessions with each student

  • Attend, participate, and co-facilitate a community building session during the week prior to the start of classes (August 23, 2024)

  • Provide support as needed to execute experiential activities within the course

  • Meet weekly with your Co-Facilitator to coordinate shared facilitation and administrative duties

  • Timely completion of administrative duties including coaching notes, grading, early alert reporting, and other administrative communications

  • Attend bi-weekly in-person team meetings throughout the semester

  • Provide additional administrative and class support as needed

Training requirements:

Successful applicants are expected to complete 18 hours of paid training. Training consists of live Zoom sessions, asynchronous online modules, and in-person training.

To be eligible for hire, applicants must be able to attend the following:

  • Friday, August 23, 2024 for an in-person community building session with their class section(s) (3 hours per section, as assigned)

  • Sunday, August 25, 2024 for 8 hours of in-person training

The mission of Year One Programs is to immerse incoming RIT students into their campus culture to develop self-awareness, make connections, and integrate themselves into their RIT community. Students in the RIT 365 course participate in experiential learning opportunities designed to launch them into their career at RIT, support them in making multiple and varied connections across the university, and engage themselves in processes of skill development. Students will plan for and reflect on their first-year experiences, receive feedback, and plan to develop foundational self-awareness and broad-based professional competencies.
