Your Opportunity

Stantec’s multi-disciplinary office located in Rochester, NY has an opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Resident Engineer with construction management expertise with City, state and locally funded projects. We seek a team player who desires a highly collaborative work environment, has excellent client and communication skills, and strong design capabilities.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate inspection requirements with inspection staff and assign duties as required.

  • Provide Quality Assurance Management to ensure quality control and contractor compliance with Contract Documents and specifications.

  • Inspect and monitor assigned field work activities to ensure conformance to plans, specifications, and other contract documents.

  • Coordinate work and inspections with contractor’s representative, client personnel, and other stakeholders.

  • Advise contractor of non-conforming work or other violations of the contract requirements. Work with the contractor to identify and implement appropriate corrective action.

  • Prepare and review daily inspection reports for preparation of entries into APPIA and properly document materials, contractor submittals, and material testing reports.

  • Test and/or sample materials as required, coordinates with testing laboratories as needed or required.

  • Evaluate and track work performed by contractor and generate change orders and payment invoices.

  • Conduct progress meetings with inspection staff, contractor, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Demonstrated experience with vertical building rehabilitation and working with the various trades (electrical, structural, plumbing, and HVAC).

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated experience with City of Rochester procedures and policies.

  • Strong leadership and ability to direct others.

  • Good oral communications and presentation skills.

  • Proficient with APPIA, and project material certification.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 7 years related work experience

  • NYS PE preferred

Salary Range(s):

  • $84,900 - $123,100 Min/Max Pay Range(s) for postings located in NYC/NY

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
