Description

The health services that became theAnthony L Jordan Health Corporation (http://www.jordanhealth.org/) (Jordan Health) began more than 100 years ago, in 1904. As one of the first 5 Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) established in the nation, its roots are steeped in service to those who face barriers to health and health care, meeting their need for comprehensive medical, dentistry, behavioral health, and community services. Starting in northeast Rochester, NY, Jordan Health has since expanded to become a network of primary care offices and health centers serving residents living in three quadrants ofRochester, NY (http://www.city-data.com/city/Rochester-New-York.html) and in Canandaigua, N.Y.

Jordan Health is now seeking aReceptionistwho, under the guidance of the Practice Manager, is primarily responsible for greeting the medical patients, verifies patient information (insurance, demographics, etc.), and answers incoming calls with a positive attitude. The Receptionist should have a positive, outgoing personality, and at all times demonstrate pro-active initiative in assisting patients and interacting with school staff and students.

Requirements

The Receptionist will ensure to:

· Registers patients according to Jordan policies and procedures, with attention to Franklin SBHC specific procedures and guidelines. Some areas include but are not limited to:

A. Entering accurate information into Electronic Health Record (EHR) such as but not exclusive to Uniform Data System (UDS) requirements, insurances, demographics, and others as requested/assigned.

B. Assessing need for and referring to financial programs such as Family Planning Benefit Program (FPBP).

C. Entering patient information and keeping records for grant requirements.

· Assist Practice Manager with data collection for grant reporting.

· Contacts school administration offices/teachers to reach students when they are needed at the SBHC.

· Monitors waiting area by periodically asking people in waiting area if they have been checked in.

Education And Experience Required:

· High school graduate or equivalent.

· One year experience in related field.

· Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

· Ability to interpret/translate as needed.

Licenses and Certifications:

· Medical Assistant (MA) certification is not required but welcomed. If candidate is an MA, he/she will be expected to assist from time to time with some MA duties (see separate job description).

Special Skills, Knowledge Required:

· Excellent customer service skills required.

· Must be able to work evenings.

· Transportation required.
