If this description speaks to you, continue reading about the opportunity of Protective Services Supervisor. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position located at St. John's Home. Available shifts are 3:00 pm-11pm, either Friday through Tuesday or Wednesday through Sunday
Position Summary: The Protective Services Supervisor assists the Protective Services Manager in overseeing all matters related to emergency services and safety of residents, visitors and employees at St. John’s Meadows and Brickstone by St. John’s. Assists Manager with ensuring all safety procedures of facility and grounds are complaint. Supervisor assists Manager in providing ongoing training to St. Johns Meadows and Brickstone by St. John’s staff related to emergency response and safety. Maintains and assures readiness and proper record keeping of all emergency response and fire safety equipment. Oversees and supervises daily Protective Services operations in the absence of the Protective Services Manager. Responsibilities include:
Perform daily responsibilities of a Protective Services Officer and Dispatcher.
Respond to staff and resident requests, incidents, emergencies and PERS calls in a timely and efficient manner.
Complete incident reports in incident reporting software with clear and accurate information.
Lead the Protective Services staff and any incidents / emergencies in the absence of the Protective Services Manager.
Ensure department vehicle is well kept, maintained and report any necessary repairs and or issues to Protective Services Manager and Transportation Services Manager.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
Ability to adjust schedule as needed to fit the needs of the organization based on current situations and emergencies.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
Associates in Criminal Justice or similar preferred.
NYS Security Guard license or NYS Security Guard certification.
Valid NYS driver’s license with ability to meet agency driving standards required (CDL, class C with passenger endorsement preferred); & Current NYS medical examiners certificate required if have valid CDL.
Instructor certificate in Emergency response and or Fire Safety related subjects preferred.
Current CPR AED certification required.
Two years of experience in the Protective Services or Security field.
One year in a Manager or Supervisory role preferred.
Experience in a health care setting preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Exposure to conditions; hot, cold, wet dry weather related.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Long periods of standing, sitting and walking
Exposure to biohazards.
