Responsibilities:

Executes assignments requiring a basic knowledge of engineering fundamentals and the application of these fundamentals to the production of engineering work Work on projects that typically include bridge (prestressed concrete and steel plate girder), retaining wall, box culvert, and other transportation related structures Executes a variety of engineering tasks including preparation of reports, investigatory studies, engineering design calculations, and detailing of structural elements Translates design criteria and standard details into completed design Prepares designs in compliance with company design procedures as well as client standards and code requirements Assists Project Manager with contract development, including technical scope of services and cost proposal derivation Is proactive in clarifying directions on project design issues, and proceeds on projects with a clear understanding of time schedule and budget Completes tasks on or before scheduled amount of time and within budget Attends and directs project team meetings Mentors younger staff Serves as Task Leader, monitoring budget and schedule compliance Maintains frequent communication with project team members to verify design requirements and identify problems that arise Requirements:

Candidates shall possess a BS or MS degree in civil engineering 5+ years of progressive technical experience, diversified knowledge preferred Civil engineer with bridge design and transportation engineering focus PE certification required Prior experience in consulting engineering or construction industry, PennDOT experience required Ability to take responsibility of technical work content Proficient verbal and written communication skills, including report writing Self-motivated with the ability to work independently Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
