A phlebotomist is a medical professional who is responsible for drawing blood from patients for various medical tests, donations, and transfusions.Shift:2pm- 10:30pmWeekend availability a plus!The job description of a phlebotomist includes the following duties and responsibilities:Collecting blood specimens: The primary duty of a phlebotomist is to collect blood specimens from patients using various techniques, such as venipuncture, capillary puncture, and arterial puncture.Identifying patients and labeling samples: Phlebotomists are responsible for verifying patients' identities, labeling specimens correctly, and ensuring that they are properly stored and transported to the laboratory for testing.Preparing equipment: Phlebotomists must ensure that all equipment used for blood collection is clean and in good working condition.Communicating with patients: Phlebotomists must explain the blood collection process to patients and address any concerns they may have.Maintaining records: Phlebotomists are responsible for maintaining accurate records of blood collection procedures, patient information, and laboratory results.Adhering to safety protocols: Phlebotomists must follow strict safety protocols to minimize the risk of infection or injury to themselves or patients.
