Power-Flo Technologies Panel Shop Technician in Rochester, New York

Power-Flo Technologies Rochester is seeking a reliable and hardworking individual to join our team as a Panel Shop Technician.

Primary Functions

Build and wire custom industrial control panels as well as OEM products as assigned by the Panel Shop Supervisor, within schedule provided in both time and date. Maintain a neat and orderly work area at all times.

    Salary Range: $16 - $22/hour based on experience

    Panel Shop Technician Essential Responsibilities

  • Build Custom Industrial Panels and OEM products meeting delivery dates

  • Work independently with the project folder and design schematics to complete your responsible job.

  • Account for parts required for the job

  • Mechanically layout and mount hardware components.

  • Wire complete panel in accordance with PFT panel procedures, UL508A specifications, and other best practices as given by the panel shop supervisor.

  • In large project situations work with other technicians in a team effort

  • Test Custom Industrial Control Panels and OEM Products

  • Point to Point wire tests in accordance with PFT testing procedures

  • Torque check and marking in accordance with PFT procedures

  • Be able to perform and fill out the PFT Panel Final Check list

  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area at all times

  • Organize and maintain shop tools and equipment

  • Organize and maintain personal tools

  • Organize and maintain your project items and materials

  • Help maintain common shop supplies IE Labels, wire ties, wire, etc.

  • Assist Apprentices and other Technicians in techniques and procedures

    Panel Shop Technician Necessary Qualifications

  • Must be able to follow and understand the PFT Shop Guidelines

  • Basic Knowledge of Electrical Theory

  • BOCES Electrical or AS in an Electrical Technology Field preferred

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals

  • Ability to work with other Technicians and Apprentices in a professional manor

  • Competent with the use of hand tools, i.e. jigsaw, drills, wrenches, screwdrivers

  • Competent with the use of electrical test equipment, i.e. Multi meter

    Panel Shop Technician Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for up to 8 Hours

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds

  • Ability to work on elevated platforms

  • Ability to climb ladders

  • This position may require standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching and/or reaching

  • You may be exposed to dust, loud noises, and hot and cold conditions

  • Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills may be required for hand tools, power tools, and other machinery
