Rochester Regional Health Manager, Pharmacy - GRIPA in Rochester, New York

Job Objectives

The Manager of Pharmacy will be responsible for orchestrating safe and cost effective medication use across the continuum for patients enrolled in the GRIPA contracts.

A successful candidate must be able to:

  • Develop and sustain an environment that supports excellence in clinical practice
  • Plan and direct the operational activities of the clinical pharmacists
  • Work collaboratively with providers and their staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure they have knowledge to provide cost effective and safe medication therapy to patients
  • Develop processes and procedures for clinical pharmacist services
  • Design programs to target high cost and suboptimal medication regimens
  • Perform quality responsibilities on key processes assigned
  • Select and develop staff to meet company-wide goals
  • Support and facilitate staff professional development
  • Demonstrate leadership and influence others in both the internal and external environments to promote optimal medication use
  • Pursue a continuing program of self-development in order to maintain, strengthen and broaden own concepts, philosophy and abilities
  • Provide coverage for other clinical pharmacists, as needed
  • Travel to and/or teleconference in with care team/providers in at least 10 counties
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Experience:
  • Doctorate degree in pharmacy preferred or an equivalent combination of education and clinical pharmacy experience
  • 10+ years Clinical Long-Term Care, Clinical Acute Hospital, and/or Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacist experience and/or Pharmacy Residency
  • 5+ years of experience in health care operations and/or health care management
  • 5+ years of experience in value based contracts
  • Pharmacy license in New York State
Preferred Experience:
  • Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy, Ambulatory Care and/or Geriatrics
  • Bilingual skills are preferred
Additional Requirements:
  • This position requires local candidates only. Fully remote or out of area candidates will not be considered.

PAY RANGE: $116,000.00 - $165,000.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
