Description of Duties

This position, located in the Department of Public Health, is responsible for managing projects and initiatives relating to environmental quality issues, to include Climate Change, Water Quality, Environmental Justice, and other relevant areas. This position proactively addresses emerging challenges, focused on protecting community health and promoting environmental sustainability. General supervision is exercised over technical staff. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of, a higher-level staff member. Does related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus, EITHER:

  • Graduation with a Master's of Science degree; OR

  • Graduation with a Bachelor’s of Science degree, plus two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience responsible for project management in environmental management, climate science, planning, or research ; OR

  • Graduation with a Master's or Bachelor's degree, plus four (4) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience as defined in (B) above; OR,

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B) and (C) above.
