Actalent Controls Engineer in Rochester, New York
Description:
This position is for a Controls Engineer who will be designing hardware and programming PLC's of industrial automated machinery. Creates/edits programs for PLC/HMI during commissioning, installation and runoff of industrial automation equipment. Will be working with internal software, mechanical and electrical teams on customer specifications to create electrical designs of industrial machine controls and safety circuits.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or closely related degree and 3+ years of experience. Associates degree at 15+ years of automation experience will also be considered. The qualified Controls Engineer must be well versed in control systems. This person must be proficient in PLC and HMI programming. This person should also possess good oral and written communication skills. • Understands advanced software and machine control engineering principals • Robot programming – Fanuc RJ series controls and ABB • PLC programming (Siemens S7 & Allen Bradley RSLogix 5000 preferable) Can create (LAD/STL/SCL) logic • HMI (Human Machine Interface) programming (Siemens Winn CC flex / HMI Pro preferable) • Design/debug electrical and software interfaces of machine tools and robot/automated loaders • Electrical and software design of machine/automation safety circuits (E-stops, safety guarding, etc…) • Commissioning and tuning of frequency & servo drives including servo / AC motors • Can design and implement industrial communication and I/O networks (Profibus DP, Profinet, Ethernet IP or similar industrial communications networks) • The ability to work closely with other controls engineers \ technicians to ensure functional interfaces and installations
