Passero Associates Civil Aviation Project Manager in Rochester, New York

Passero Associates’ Rochester, NY office has an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager to support our Aviation Services division. The candidate will be offered tremendous management and growth opportunities, overseeing development of a wide range of aviation-focused planning, site and airfield development projects using the latest advancements in industry technology. Project assignments will include all aspects of airfield development, including aviation civil design (site layout, storm water management, utility design, etc.), master planning, and development of 5-year capital improvement plans with direct input from client/FAA/DOT staff. Experience with municipal and institutional clients is advantageous. At Passero Associates, we focus on working in a team environment, all while promoting individual growth and responsibility.Responsibilities:•Lead and manage an aviation design team from concept design through construction document development, including the production of drawings, technical specifications, and engineering reports for permit agency (FAA, DOT) approval, bidding, and construction.•Develop a multi-year capital improvement program for aviation clients.•Work with an interdisciplinary team of engineers, architects, and planners to plan, design, and oversee construction of a variety of capital improvement projects.•Act as client liaison with agencies, coordinate and lead meetings for small and large scale projects, including pre-bid, pre-construction, progress, final inspection, and project closeout meetings.•Coordinate the project bid process, including preparation of bid tabulations and aware recommendation letters.•Perform construction administration, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to contractor RFIs, reviewing pay applications, and managing construction observation and materials testing team members.•Experienced in all project management areas, including proposal development, contract negotiations, project work plan (scope, fees, hours, schedule, QA/QC), final agreements/contracts, and project financial tracking.•Clear communication with team members and clientsQualifications/Experience:•BS degree in Civil Engineering or a Civil-related field.•PE required.•8+ years of experience in site development and/or transportation planning, design, permitting, and construction.•Aviation experience a plus.•Ability to prepare detailed project and construction schedules.•Well versed in technical specifications, contract documents, and construction cost estimates.•Well versed in applying state procedures, standards, and regulations. •Experienced in developing and mentoring a team of junior team members.•Effective communication and technical writing skills.•Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle.•Ability to obtain Airport Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge required, including Federal Background Check (with clear record).Submit your resume and cover letter today!
