Car Sharing Fleet Services Associate PT

Job Summary Car sharing is similar to car rental except that car share members reserve and pay for car share vehicles by the hour or day on demand. Unlike car rental, car sharing includes insurance and EV charging. Members access vehicles from a nearby "hub" in their neighborhood. To join, individuals complete an online application. Members can make same-day reservations for a car share vehicle from their computer, smart phone or by telephone. Members use their car to run errands, get to medical appointments, grocery shopping, visit relatives, get to a job interview, and more. The main responsibilities for this position include checking on the vehicle fleet, cleaning vehicles, making sure they run properly, and taking them in for repairs. The Fleet Services Associate will also assist with member services duties.

Weekly checks of vehicles for cleanliness and safety; Weekly interior/exterior cleaning of vehicles (every 7 days); Light mechanical duties (fluid replacement, headlamps, fuses, batteries, wiper blades, etc.); Tire rotations, and otherwise scheduled maintenance; Annual inspection and biennial registration of each vehicle; Taking vehicles in for repairs and bodywork as needed; Clearing parking spaces of debris and excess oils; Remote monitoring of fleet Assisting Member Services Director in: Answering phone calls, assisting walk-in customers, Processing applications, Conducting orientations, Responding to emergencies, Marketing efforts, Being on-call, Outgoing communication with members; Co-management of vehicle maintenance schedule and archives; Assisting Program Coordinator in following up on accidents and insurance claims.

The ideal candidate should have the following experience level and skill sets: Comfortable traveling to various locations daily, potential of 100+ miles of commuting on a given day; Proficient in spreadsheets, word processing and presentation platforms Experience working on a small team in a fast-paced work environment. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables and evolving situations, and to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Valid NYS Drivers License and clean driving record.
