Rochester Academy Charter Schools Athletic Director/Health Teacher in Rochester, New York

Rochester Academy Charter School is seeking an Athletic Director/Health Teacher who will be required to teach a total of 4 health classes in two separate buildings and responsible for Athletic Director roles and responsibilities for middle and high school grade levels. Salary depends on the credentials and experience. Job duties relating to this position include, but are not limited to: The Athletic Director shall take primary responsibility in the planning and supervision of all school athletic programs, including the supervision and evaluation of coaches. Work directly with coaches, students, parents and spectators as needed to ensure good sportsmanship and a safe playing environment Supervise all coaches including monitoring needed certification requirements Review and maintain coach certification records to be sure that all coaches are certified Be familiar with the rules and regulations outlined in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSSPHA) handbook and assure that they are followed by educating coaches and verifying procedures Be familiar with Section V and New York State Rules, Regulations and Policies Develop and enforce training rules/Athletic Code of Conduct Attend all Private/Parochial League meetings Attend Section V Mandatory Athletic Director Meetings Prepare schedules for all teams Schedule transportation to all events Schedule all referees/officials for all contests Plan and manage all home athletic events Prepare an athletic budget with input from head coaches. Present the budget to the Director. Once approved, make purchase requisitions. Management of all athletic gear, practices, equipment and recommend purchases and replacements as needed Manage the selective classification process, including administering testing Review and maintain records for athletic physicals Ensure student athletes meet NYS and school athletic eligibility requirements Communicate effectively with coaching staff and parents. Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs Establish and enforce a chain of communication with players, coaches, parents, the athletic director and the administration Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities Other duties as assigned
