Description:

University of Rochester Infectious Diseases Division Faculty position: HIV vaccine clinical trials

The Infectious Diseases Division in the Department of Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry is seeking a full-time academic faculty member at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor level to join the investigative team working on preventive HIV vaccine clinical trials as a part of the NIAID-supported HIV Vaccine Trials Network (HVTN). Interest/expertise in translational immunology and/or the conduct of clinical trials is required. Additional, opportunities exist for collaboration in the area of HIV therapeutics research with the NIAID-supported AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG), or respiratory virus research with the NIAID-support Vaccine Treatment Evaluation Unit (VTEU) and/or the NIH-supported Coronavirus Prevention Network (CoVPN). Career advancement to assume leadership positions is expected. Clinical responsibilities include Infectious Diseases consultation and teaching in inpatient and outpatient settings at Strong Memorial Hospital and UR Medicine affiliates. Start-up funding for laboratory-based research is available.

Candidates must possess an MD degree or equivalent, be eligible for a New York State medical license, have completed fellowship training in Infectious Diseases and be board-certified or board-eligible in the Infection Diseases specialty. Post-offer health assessment is also required.   • Must Possess an MD degree or equivalent

  • Must obtain NYS Medical licensure prior to start

  • Eligible for a Faculty Appointment at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Infectious Diseases

  • Post offer Drug Screen and Health Assessment required

  • Compliance with University and New York State health requirements

Pay Range

Pay Range: $166,513 - $225,393 Annually

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum annual salary for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
