Description

Greenlight Networksis actively recruiting to add an Assistant Controller to our finance and accounting team. This role has direct responsibility for leading a team having direct oversight of the accuracy of financial information in relation to journal entries, account reconciliations, variance reporting and the month-end close process.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage monthly and year-end close process including continuously improving speed to close and accuracy.

  • Own the preparation of internal and external financial reporting.

  • Review journal entries in a timely and accurate manner

  • Review account reconciliations and establish procedures around timing, accuracy and completeness.

  • Ensure compliance with established controls and procedures.

  • Take a lead role in the annual audit performed by external auditors.

  • Research technical accounting issues

  • Assist in the forecast process.

  • Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to financial reporting systems, as well as accounting and internal control procedures

  • Partner with business leaders to provide accounting guidance and support.

  • Assist with the tax and regulatory reporting requirements of entities.

  • Provide accounting support to the Controller.

  • Lead special projects and manage / perform other duties as assigned.

  • Lead by example, mentoring an emerging accounting team with the highest ethical standards.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is between - $100k - $130k. The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet established deadlines.

  • Team orientated approach to tasks and problem solving.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of an organization and externally

  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel) with the ability to learn new and existing company specific software applications.

  • Ability to manage large sets of data and complex spreadsheets.

  • Ability to take initiative in identifying problems, collecting data, and establishing facts in order to produce practical decisions and solutions.

  • Highest ethical and professional conduct

  • Strong analytical skills and attentive to detail with a high degree of accuracy

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.

  • Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in either public or private accounting

  • CPA preferred.

  • Public accounting experience a plus

  • Construction experience a plus

  • Inventory background required.

  • Previous experience directly managing personnel.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and scanners. Position requires prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer.
