Passero Associates Airfield Electrical Engineer in Rochester, New York

Passero Associates has an exciting career opportunity for an Airfield Electrical Engineer in our Dayton, OH, Rochester, NY, Albany, NY, Marietta, GA, St. Augustine, FL or Charlotte, NC office to work on airfield electrical lighting and navigational aid (NAVAID) design construction projects, planning, and construction projects. Responsibilities include providing design, permit, bid, and construction phase services, project team leadership and oversight, client interaction, and coordination with staff members and subconsultants in multiple offices. Also responsible for financial reporting and project budget monitoring.Job Responsibilities:•Preparing scope and fee proposals for design, planning, and construction phase projects.•Directing project team and overseeing preparation of design plans, contract documents, technical specifications, and other technical engineering reports.•Coordinating project tasks with subconsultants and project team members in other office locations.•Coordinating the approval process through regulatory agencies such as FAA and state DOTs•Bid phase services, including coordinating bid advertisement, conducting bid opening, and preparing certified bid tabulation and award recommendation.•Construction phase services, including reviewing shop drawings and contractor pay applications, conducting pre-construction meetings, evaluating contractor change order requests, conducting inspections of completed work, and coordinating project closeout efforts.•Providing regular project status updates to clients and governing authorities (e.g. FAA, DOT), including attending airport authority, city council, or county board of commissioners meetings.•Training, mentoring, and assisting with managing workload of junior staff members.•Traveling to project sites occasionally.Qualifications/Experience:•BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field•PE is highly desired for this position.•10+ years airport, civil site, or transportation engineering design and/or construction experience, demonstrating an expansion in project responsibilities.•Proven ability to oversee and deliver successful projects from concept to construction.•Experience in AutoCAD •Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).•Knowledge of FAA advisory circulars and design standards a plus.•Strong organization, management, and communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation).•Focused on client service, integrity, and servant leadership.
