Description We are searching for a meticulous Accounts Payable Specialist to join our thriving team in Rochester, New York. This role is focused on the Food & Food Processing industry, where your main function will be to manage our accounts payable functions. This opportunity offers a contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the processing of customer credit applications efficiently and accurately.

• Maintain detailed and current customer credit records.

• Handle and resolve customer credit inquiries.

• Monitor customer credit accounts and take appropriate action to collect overdue payments.

• Utilize various accounting software systems including Great Plains (GPAC), IBM AS/400, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, and Microsoft Excel.

• Perform data entry tasks as needed.

• Identify and resolve discrepancies in accounts payable.

• Assist in check processing activities.

• Carry out other accounting functions as required by the role. Requirements • Demonstrated proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with Great Plains (GPAC) is required

• Familiarity with IBM AS/400 and JD Edwards EnterpriseOne systems

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Solid understanding of Accounting Functions

• Experience in Accounts Payable (AP)

• Knowledge of Check Processing procedures

• Ability to perform Data Entry tasks accurately and efficiently

• Experience in handling and resolving Discrepancies

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines

• Good problem-solving and analytical skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Willingness to continue learning and improving accounting skills.
