JOB SUMMARY

As a Forklift Operator on our warehouse team, you will be responsible for the safe movement of materials and products in multiple onsite warehouses and one offsite warehouse. To track inventory movements throughout your shift, you will use a handheld scanner and work directly with warehouse leadership to ensure accuracy and that customers’ needs are met.

SHIFT: Afternoons / Nights; Weekends and OT as needed

LOCATION: Rochester, NY

DEPARTMENT: Warehouse

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safely operate a single and double forklift in a production/warehouse environment.

  • Use of scan gun technology to control inventory movements.

  • Load and unload multiple trailers per shift.

  • Move palletized goods within a warehouse.

  • Shrink-wrap pallets and handle empty pallets and slip boards.

  • Daily inspection of equipment and change of forklift batteries.

  • Work to maximize efficiency, maintain product integrity, and minimize material loss.

  • May be required to work at different warehouse locations during the work week.

  • Actively exhibit a commitment to support a diverse and inclusive work environment.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of experience as a Forklift Operator in a warehouse environment.

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

  • Must be able to pass a forklift road test and obtain a Genesee Brewing Company forklift license.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

  • Ability to climb on/off forklifts multiple times during the work shift.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • The environment is not temperature controlled and can be hot and humid in the summer months and cold in the winter.

    Pay Rate: $18.32/hr

    The referenced pay range represents step pay rates for this job, as set forth in the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Individual pay will be set in accordance with terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
