How your role fits into Boldt: Our Project Quality Manager is responsible for providing leadership, process knowledge, technical expertise, and resources to help assure that quality is built into and is an outcome of work processes on our projects. This role is a key front-line position responsible for implementing, planning, facilitating, directing, evaluating, and continuously improving project quality processes. Success is demonstrated by strengthening and maintaining relationships between quality, production, and safety on construction projects and by helping to create a collaborative environment where raising awareness to quality issues is celebrated and builds a quality-focused culture on project sites. Required Skills What you get to do: Use methodology such as Built-in Quality and Boldt's ILPD process to facilitate the identification and elimination of defects and waste at each step in our work processes. Ensure all quality representatives fully participate in and support project safety programs and initiatives. Create, facilitate, and assist in development of the Project Quality Plan. Review, verify and communicate the project quality requirements for Boldt, our subcontractors, and vendors. Supervise the effectiveness of the Project Quality Management System and provide guidance in areas where the site team can be more efficient and/or improve results. Review and approve all subcontractors' quality plans. Develop Quality Work Instructions to support specific project requirements. Manage inspection services to ensure compliance with quality requirements. Perform, witness, and/or supervise compliance testing. Ensure all required quality records are generated detailing compliance to contract specifications. Supervise Quality Inspectors. Issue and track Non-Conformances (NCR's) and Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA's) as the need arises. Support project team in identification and resolution of NCR's and RCCA's. Report Quality Status to the Owner's Representative. Manage the Boldt Lessons Learned records and work with the team on making the needed changes to ensure corrective actions are successfully implemented. Perform, lead, and document all internal and external auditing. Use the Escalation Process as needed when requirements are not being met. Ensure the documentation requirements are being met by Boldt and our trade partners. Assist in the development and implementation of project specific quality programs to include compliance with contracts and requirements, and with corporate directions. Required Experience What we expect from you: 7-10 years of experience applying quality principals and tools with a minimum of 5 years in a quality management role. Five or more years of experience with projects during construction phases, knowledge of building systems and components with a strong emphasis on enclosure, structural steel methods per AISC, ASME, NBIC, ACI and various other scopes is preferred. Understand the essential elements of Built-In Quality: Build quality in at the source by developing and executing in accordance with standard process, identify defects and offer suggestions for repair, develop process countermeasures, encourage a goal of zero defects with 100% passing rates for all inspections. Excellent communication skills and proven track record of collaboration. Physical requirements and working conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to position objects and operate tools or controls. Employee occasionally uses computer keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to position self to maneuver in confined or awkward spaces. The employee regularly is required to remain in a stationary position and move to access people or machinery or workspaces. Employee is occasionally required to ascend and/or descend a ladder or stairs to reach work areas. The employee must regularly move up to 20 pounds and occasionally move up to 50 pounds. The employee is regularly required to travel (as vehicle driver and as passenger on various modes of transportation) and frequently performs work on-site at construction work sites. Specific abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employee views computer monitor regularly. The employee is required to be able to optimally communicate while on the job site and throughout the completion of duties. The working conditions of this position requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to maintain safety and prevent exposure to harmful materials. The environment for which this position functions may be exposed to prolonged loud noises and may contain scents and fragrances. May be requested to work overtime and weekends.
