Duties: Responsible for buying parts, tooling, jigs, and fixtures used in various automotive Electrical and Electronics modules, including steering wheel switches, Accessory Switch bank, integrated trailer break module, Trailer reverse steering control module, Seat switches, headlamp switches, NFC Reader, Bluetooth control module, key fobs, Vehicle Entry authorization system modules, Ambient lighting modules, High Voltage Sensor, and Battery disconnect unit parts. The main component parts may include Raw Rigid Printed circuit board with layout, Raw Flexible Printed circuit board with layout, Resistors, Capacitors, Diodes, Inductors, Resonators, Integrated Circuit chips, LEDs, Connectors, Wiring harness cables, Injection molded parts, Painted and chrome plated plastic parts, Die cast parts in Zinc & Aluminum metal, Stamping steel parts, Metal Springs, Rubber foam parts, among others. Develop and manage the supplier base for either United States based suppliers or worldwide suppliers. Send out, receive and evaluate RFQ's. Work within a highly regimented project development process. Negotiate with vendors for goods and services, negotiating the best possible pricing and service guarantees. Coordinate the qualification of new suppliers. Establish organization-wide purchasing policies and ensure compliance. Develop and maintain supplier performance metrics and systems. Research new supplies, and services; make recommendations designed to reduce costs and improve quality. Maintain all required records of purchases, prices, and deliveries. Serve as technical resource in matters related to changing material and market conditions. Coordinate all purchasing activities with those of German Global Purchasing.
