George Koch Sons, LLC Field Service Technician in Rochester Hills, Michigan

Jessup Systems, division of KOCH Finishing Systems is currently looking to hire an experienced Field Service Technician to join our Field Services Team. This is a field-based position working independently or within teams to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain our automated finishing equipment. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of electronics, plumbing, maintenance, or mechanical systems with the ability to troubleshoot with root cause analysis. Responsibilities: * Perform installation, maintenance and repairs of plating and anodizing systems or paint finishing systems. * Work safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property. * Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics, and operation/product manuals. * Maintains clear and concise communications with the Project Managers and customer. * Analyzes, consults, and makes recommendations to the Customer Service Manager to resolve any specific service, liability, warranty, or startup job problems or complaints. * Requests assistance for any technical or budget problems that cannot be promptly solved or could have adverse impact to the project. * Daily communications with Manager regarding delays, requirements, and general status of jobs. * Work proactively and in a positive manner with all co-workers. * Ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities without supervision. * Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and legible manner. * When necessary, supervises installation activities, small installation teams or subcontractors. * Coach and mentor less experienced field service technicians. * Manage inventory and tools for each job to assure proper parts and tools are on hand. Requisite Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Working knowledge of utility piping, process piping, material handling, and general mechanical equipment. * Read blueprints, assemble, lead, and organize work. * Read electrical schematics and troubleshoot device issues. * Analyze and solve complex field problems and manage multiple responsibilities. * Travel domestically and internationally (required). Education, Training, and/or Experience: * Associates Degree in HVAC or related technical field preferred or minimum 2 years equivalent experience. * Experience and formal training in mechanical maintenance and technical communications. * OSHA 10-hour certification and excellent safety record (provided by KOCH).
