About the Role:


As a Machine Operator I, you will be responsible for operating sorting machinery, including Opex 150, 7780, 3600, 7200, and iTran, to efficiently process incoming mail. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely sorting of mail items, contributing to the smooth operation of our mail processing center. This role requires attention to detail, technical proficiency, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.


Essential Job Responsibilities:


  • Operate sorting machinery, including Opex 150, 7780, 3600, 7200, and iTran, to process incoming mail items accurately and efficiently.
  • Open and sort incoming mail using high-speed Opex 150 Mail opening equipment, following established procedures and guidelines.
  • Prepare sorting machines for daily operations, including loading materials, adjusting settings, and performing routine maintenance tasks.
  • Monitor machine operations closely to ensure proper functioning and troubleshoot any issues or malfunctions that arise during the sorting process.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including machine surfaces and surrounding areas, to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following machine safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members to prioritize work orders, coordinate workflow, and meet processing deadlines.
  • Document daily production activities, including machine settings, output quantities, and any incidents or deviations from standard procedures.
  • Participate in training and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge related to mail sorting equipment and processes.
  • Follow company policies and procedures, including quality standards and compliance regulations, to ensure the accuracy and integrity of mail processing operations.


Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience operating sorting machinery, preferably in a mail processing or distribution center.
  • Proficiency in operating mail sorting equipment, including Opex 150, 7780, 3600, 7200, and iTran.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve equipment malfunctions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members and supervisors.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts and overtime as needed to meet production demands.


"The pay range for this position starts at $15.14; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Bonus opportunities may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered."
