The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of duties in the General Engineering field and to complete developmental assignments and training outlined in the formal training and developmental plan. Responsibilities NH-02 Performs professional engineering work involving the application of industrial engineering disciplines to determine the business and technical needs of customers in the acquisition, development, or sustainment of weapon systems, sub-systems, support systems, equipment items, or an equivalent product. Functions as the organization's technical specialist in developing system performance requirements, objectives and integration, and the estimation of time and resources for system design, development, and support. Applies expertise in the field of engineering and extensive knowledge of the assigned functional area to resolve unique or novel problems related to design and development engineering. Performs complex and comprehensive analyses and uses systematic, disciplined, quantifiable approaches to determine performance objectives and integration issues. Serves as a consultant and technical expert to senior subject matter specialists and/or agency officials responsible for broad program operations. Initiates and provides expert technical direction, management, and administration for assigned engineering programs and projects. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Degree: Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2)include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Professional knowledge of industrial engineering policies, theories, principles and concepts, and familiarity with other engineering disciplines to carry out conventional engineering assignments. 2. Ability to analyze, interpret and apply industrial engineering rules and procedures in a variety of situations and recommend effective solutions to senior engineers. 3.
