Is operating effectively in a transport environment one of your strengths? Is coordinating drivers and ensuring you run a safe and efficient operation a day-to-day occurrence for you? Do you find building strong and sustainable relationships with stakeholders a habit? If so, we are looking for a Operations Manager to join us, on a full time, permanent basis, to be based out of the Robertbridge site managing our British Gypsum contract.

The salary on offer will be up to £42,000. We also offer 25 days’ holiday (including bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. You’ll have access to a variety of high street discounts, as well as a cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension and many other benefits.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Support the Head of Operations taking full operational accountability and responsibility where directed, effectively managing your time to ensure effective Network Operations.

  • Be agile and dynamic, ready to deploy in to the areas of the Network that need support.

  • As a true people manager, you will focus on ensuring that your colleagues receive the right level of support, coaching and development

  • Manage the relationship between XPO and our customers, constantly communicating across various stakeholders

  • Ensure that all teams are aligned, operating to XPO standard policies and procedures

· Support the Head of Operations with adherence to all compliance and legal obligations with a huge emphasis on safety.

  • Provide leadership and guidance for your team to enable them to meet objectives, encouraging open communication

What you need to succeed at XPO:

  • Ideally, you’ll already be a Transport Manager or have Transport experience in a 3PL environment, looking for the next step

  • Great People Management and Leadership skills

  • International CPC holder – essential

  • A track record of resolving complex issues and delivering results in a fast paced environment
