JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Experience with passenger service tires.

  • Inspect and test vehicles. Complete preventive maintenance such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, and replacing filters.

  • Maintain vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; and replacing parts and components.

  • Verify vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.

  • Comply with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.

  • Maintain vehicle records by recording service and repairs.

  • Keep shop equipment operational by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; and calling for repairs.

  • Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.

  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.

  • Keep a clean service area.

    OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Other duties can and will arise, and the candidate should be prepared to take on these challenges openly.

    EDUCATION

  • High School Degree or GED.

    REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum age of 18.

  • Valid drivers license.

  • State Inspection license.

  • Must have own tools.
