Adams Construction Company Milling Crew - Water Truck Driver - CDL in Roanoke, Virginia

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Drives multi-axle water truck with GVWR in excess of 26,001 pounds. Will be responsible for preventative maintenance and pre-shift walk around of the assigned equipment to assure safe operation. Must have a current Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • CDL Class A or B with tanker endorsement. (Class A preferred)

  • Safely load, transport and unload water from tank to the milling machine

  • Ensure water is being pumped out of a approved source or location

  • Responsible for minor repairs and servicing of assigned equipment to maintain safe and continued operation

  • Expected to assist with other aspects of the milling operation once finished filling or refilling the milling machine with water. (i.e. handwork, clean-up, equipment operation, traffic control)

  • Able to work various shifts (Day/Night), overtime and weekends.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects

  • The ability to lift and carry heavy loads on a day to day basis;

  • The ability to understand and carry out verbal and or written directions paying attention to detail

  • The ability to stand for long periods of time. (10-12 hours)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma/GED.

  • Must meet all Federal D.O.T. regulations for drivers

  • D.M.V. record must not have more than (–3) demerit.
