Job Description:

Parsons is looking for a skilled CAD Drafter to join our team.

The CAD Drafter will be responsible for creating precise and detailed technical drawings and plans using computer-aided design software. Working closely with engineers, architects, and designers, the CAD Drafter will play a crucial role in converting design concepts into digital representations. The ideal candidate should have a keen eye for detail, proficiency in CAD software, and a solid understanding of drafting standards and guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize CAD software to create 2D and 3D drawings based on specifications, sketches, or rough concepts provided by engineers or designers.

  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, or sketches to accurately represent dimensions, materials, and other relevant details.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices while creating drawings.

  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and designers to review and revise drawings as necessary, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Add appropriate dimensions, annotations, symbols, and specifications to drawings to provide comprehensive information.

  • Follow established drafting standards, guidelines, and project-specific requirements to maintain consistency and quality.

  • Make revisions to existing drawings based on feedback or design changes, maintaining updated and organized drawing files.

  • Perform quality checks on drawings to identify and rectify errors, inconsistencies, or discrepancies.

  • Provide technical support to team members or departments, addressing CAD-related questions and troubleshooting design issues.

  • Organize and maintain a library of CAD files, drawings, and project documents, ensuring proper version control and backup.

  • Stay updated with the latest CAD software tools, techniques, and industry trends through continuous learning and development initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a CAD Drafter or similar role.

  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD,Civil3D Revit, or similar).

  • Strong understanding of drafting standards, guidelines, and best practices.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in creating technical drawings.

  • Ability to interpret and translate design concepts into digital representations.

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve design issues.

  • Continuous learning mindset to stay updated with industry advancements.

  • Associate degree or certification in drafting, CAD technology, or a related field is preferred.

  • Typically 0-5 years of experience required
