Job Description Summary

At Avio Aero, a GE Aerospace Business Unit, we’ve been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years. We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for both the civil and military aviation.

As Avio Aero Export Control Manager you will be responsible of the integration of export control requirements in Avio Aero business operations.

In this role you will work within the Avio Aero International Trade Compliance (ITC) Organization, in close cooperation with Legal and Business functions to assure that the business operates in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations in the International Trade Compliance field and to facilitate accurate and timely license application.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Support the ITC Leader in identifying the main areas of Export Compliance Risk, preparing high level assessments to be addressed to the Avio Aero Senior Leadership Team and to coordinate Avio Aero national licensing team

  • Interact with internal and external stakeholders relevant to the licensing processes in order to facilitate licenses application, such as the main internal AA functions (i.e. Program Management, Sourcing, Engineering, Logistics) and the national licensing Authorities (i.e. UAMA)

  • Define the areas of improvement of the Avio Aero procedures and instructions assuring the proper flow-down of export control national rules and requirements for military and dual use operations

  • Manage and improve the established lean standard work for the ITC cross-functional activities integrated with the Company processes and KPIs

  • Ensure that collaboration tools, database and records satisfy all requirements and compliance standards both for tangible and intangible items

  • Identify and define Avio Aero ITC internal audits related to national export control regulation application and actively support external audits. Be responsible for the definition and implementation of timely corrective actions

Qualifications/Requirements

  • University Degree in Law, Political Sciences and International Relations, Administrative Law or similar subjects

  • Knowledge laws and regulations in the export control area (such as of Italian L. 185/90 and Dual Use Regulation 821/2021)

  • Experience in Compliance related to export control of defense and dual use products

  • Fluent in Italian and English languages

  • Previous experience in interacting with Italian Ministry of External Affairs (UAMA office in particular) and/or Italian Ministry of Defense

  • Familiarity in coordinating working groups operating on cross-functional processes and procedures Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required

  • Eligible to be vetted under the Italian National Security framework for Personal Security Clearances (Capo IV DPCM 6 novembre 2015, n.5)
