BLU-D Construction Commercial Framer in Rigby, Idaho

This job was posted by https://idahoworks.gov : For more information, please see: https://idahoworks.gov/jobs/2202107

Experienced Framer. (We are looking for permanent workers but we do internships and summer or off-track work as well.)

BLU-D Commercial Framing is based in eastern Idaho. We build people who build structures for commercial and governmental projects. We love it here and are excited to make a difference in the lives of the people we employ and in the built environment. The job isn\'t for everyone -let\'s break it down...

Let\'s get the less than ideal stuff out of the way first:

  • Working in outside in Idaho weather: It could be cold, snowy, rainy, hot, windy, absolutely beautiful or a combination of the above all within an hour in Idaho! You will be working outside nearly every day putting together a structure so most of the other trades can have a dry, warm place to work in! You will need to provide proper clothing to keep you warm and safe (coats, sweatshirts, pants, hats, gloves, work boots, etc.) You will be working (handling power or pneumatic tools, up and down ladders, lifting lumber, walking the job site, doing tasks per the supervisor, etc.) in cold, warm and beautiful weather. You must also show up on time everyday! We realize things happen and we are flexible, but you must let us know as well in advance as possible if you will not be there. If you are looking for an office job, this is not it.
  • Review point 1.

Now, let\'s talk about the good stuff:

  • Working with your hands. Do you love to drive by a place and say, \"I had a hand in building that!\"? This job will give you the opportunity to use your hands to create schools, apartment complexes, office buildings and other cool places that weren\'t there before. You will need your own tool bag, and hammer, hard hat, square, cat\'s paw and chalk line (bring your own hand and power/pneumatic tools if you have them).
  • Safety. We want you to go home to your family in one piece every night! We provide safety vests, harnesses, safety glasses, hearing protection and other gear to keep you safe when working. It is a must! If you don\'t want to wear a hard hat, or complain about wearing a harness, this job isn\'t for you.
  • Pay. We expect our employees to work hard and avoid mistakes, but we also appreciate and pay our framers well. We are looking for the best and we will pay based on performance and abilities. For those who are self-directed, understand framing and can manage a couple of guys, the pay goes up!
  • Location, location, location! You will typically be on a project from one week to several months, so you will not be watching the same scenic views each day! You will need your own transportation to get to the job site, and we will provide transportation for projects that are more than an hour away from our main hubs in Pocatello and Rexburg.
