Samsung SDS America Senior Java Developer, Full Stack in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey

Position Summary:

Samsung SDS America is looking for a talented and experienced Senior Full Stack Java Developer to join our team.

As a Senior Full Stack Java Developer, you will play a pivotal role with assisting in the maintenance, development, and implementation of our web-based applications. The successful candidate will have a solid development background across multiple technical disciplines, including J2EE web application development, Java client/server development, and database development. The role will primarily involve web application system maintenance and server-side design and programming work, with some involvement in traditional user interface and application module development.

The team works a hybrid schedule (3 days office/2 days remote) at our regional headquarters in Ridgefield Park, NJ.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform web application system maintenance and server-side design and programming work

  • Develop Angular user interface and application modules

  • Utilize different build tools such as DevOps CI/CD pipeline, Maven/Ant, source control (Git-Hub), and eclipse development tool

  • Implement web applications using Spring framework, myBatis, and JQuery

  • Work with multiple operating systems, including Windows and Linux server platforms

  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholder throughout the development lifecycle from requirements gathering and brainstorming to analysis, coding, testing, and documentation

  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly to existing applications for business functions and technical structural layout

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field

  • 10+ years of high level Java/J2EE experience

  • Hands-on experience in Servlets, JSP, Spring, Hibernate, WebLogic/Tomcat

  • Proficiency in web UI technologies such as Angular 5, bootstrap, JQuery, HTML/CSS, Ajax, and JavaScript

  • Strong server-side technical skills, including SQL (Oracle and MSSQL), Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring Batch Framework, myBatis, Java/J2EE

  • Familiar with Cloud Native Application Development practices

  • Basic knowledge of cloud-native application skills, including microservices architecture, containerization, and DevOps CI/CD practices

  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to create software design and engineering documents

  • Ability to work independently or within a team environment

  • Strong multitasking abilities with the capability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines
