Job Description

POSITION: Floor Supervisor

DEPARTMENT: Front of House Operations

REPORTS TO: House Manager

FLSA STATUS: Part Time Hourly

This position Supervises all Front of House activities, staff and services at Richmond CenterStage and Altria Theater. This position also handles all guest services, including services for persons with disabilities.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the House Manager with management of the Front of House operations with special emphasis on events and guests with disabilities services. Inform Event MOD of any issues that need to be resolved and respond to MOD requests.

  • Supervise volunteer staff.

  • Handle all needs for guests with disabilities including policies and procedures for ticketing, entrance/exiting and overall ADA compliance.

  • Patrol and maintain front-of-house area of the Richmond Theaters, ensuring that all front-of-house areas are clean, safe and secure.

  • Assist the House Manager with keeping detailed logs and reports of incidents and related activities and making sure that all incidents are reported to Event MOD

  • Assist the House Manager with training the Richmond Theater staff on implementing the emergency plan.

  • Assist as needed in all areas of operations.

  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience

High School diploma or G.E.D. required. Demonstrated knowledge of current management principles and practices including supervisory skills, budgeting and training and scheduling a part-time staff. In-depth knowledge of ADA code requirements. Knowledge of computer operations, radio communication equipment, and building security functions. Supervisory Responsibilities

Manage subordinate crew during theater events. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

HOURS OF WORK AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

This position is part-time on call work. There is no travel inherent to this position; however, hours may be assigned to either theater which are within 5 miles of each other. Most hours will be nights and weekends during theater events. Preference will be given to those candidates that have availability during days as well as nights.
