Accounting Manager - Tax Advantage

We are seeking a highly motivated professional to join the Commercial Accounting team. This role manages the accounting, reporting and governance processes. The role requires close partnership with our business contacts to coordinate and deliver key results, project initiatives and documentation. In addition, the manager will need to actively engage in a dynamic business environment to ensure consistent process execution and delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of associates to elevate performance and embrace Capital One Values

  • Review and present monthly, quarterly and other ad hoc analytics for Line of Business, Accounting and Finance leadership

  • Partner and coordinate with upstream and downstream partners to understand and deliver accurate key results, project initiatives and documentation

  • Review monthly journal entries and reconciliations

  • Review monthly and quarterly SEC and Regulatory Reporting as well as other ad hoc reporting requests

  • Monitor the status of Tax Credit Investment/Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) product offerings, business initiatives and efficiency projects to determine the impact on existing processes, as well as VIE/Consolidation reporting

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in accounting, finance, audit, or a combination

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification

  • 7+ years of experience in accounting, finance, audit, or a combination

  • 7+ years of experience in Tax Credit Investment, Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) experience, or a combination

  • 3+ years of experience coaching/mentoring people

  • 3+ years of experience implementing process improvement projects
