Saltworks Technologies Contracts Manager in Richmond, British Columbia

We are seeking a Contracts Manager to negotiate and draft contracts for high-value industrial equipment and advanced technology with customers and suppliers. The position will report to the Chief Operating Officer and will work alongside Executive, Business Development, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Project Management teams. The position will also support procurement of complex components from international suppliers as well as various strategic projects for optimizing our supply chain.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in a technical or relevant discipline; proficiency with contract management in an industrial, manufacturing, or construction setting; excellent negotiation and communication skills; and impeccable attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and draft contract language, and coordinate contract execution. Contract types include: sales of equipment, parts, and services purchase order agreements; non-disclosure agreements; and, master service agreements.

  • Implement best practices for contract structuring, terms, administration, and compliance with industry standards.

  • Negotiate terms and conditions with customers and suppliers that manage risk and help achieve optimal outcomes for cost/scope/schedule, while maintaining positive relationships.

  • Prepare customer RFPs/RFQs and supplier purchase order packages for high-value industrial equipment.

  • Work with internal leadership to identify opportunities and implement strategies for continuously improving our supply chain efficiency, supplier terms/pricing, and customer project delivery.

  • Streamline practices and processes for contract administration and version control.

  • Provide guidance and support to internal teams on contract structuring and risk management.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in contract management within an industrial, manufacturing, or construction setting.

  • Strong proficiency in contract best practices, drafting high-quality contract language, and legal terminology.

  • Proven examples of negotiating successful outcomes on complex or high-value transactions.

  • Degree in a technical field or relevant discipline. Supply chain experience is an asset.

  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with external stakeholders.

  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and written and verbal communication skills in English.
