This Senior Project Engineer will be developing design documents, including single lines, load lists, and equipment data sheets, that incorporate the applicable design. This position will be required to communicate effectively, promoting leadership, quality, and safety values, to external partners including vendors, construction companies, and other subcontractors. This full-time position is located in Richland, WA. Work with electrical engineers and other technical disciplines in a team environment to support the safe operations of a power plant. Individual must have extensive understanding of all engineering discipline drawings and electrical discipline wiring diagrams, system descriptions, system calculations, 1-line drawings, schematics, and be able to size equipment and perform cable sizing calculations. Performs special tasks, calculations/studies, and product reviews. Responsible to produce basic and higher-tier drawings and documentation in accordance with established conceptual design and scope. Properly interprets and applies codes & standards and customer design requirements, for the preparation of electrical design documents, specifications, material requisitions and system descriptions related to design tasks. Must be a self-starter and capable of independent creative design, with direction, using nuclear industry concepts and procedures. Must be able to effectively communicate with internal and external vendors and peers within a team. Interface with regulatory agencies as required. Ability to cope with conflicting deadlines, frequent interruptions, and multiple tasks. Demonstrate leadership qualities with emphasis on continuous improvement and team building and interpersonal communication skills. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university and 5 years of discipline specific engineering experience; OR a PE license obtained by an accredited examination and five years of discipline specific engineering experience. High school diploma or GED is required. One diverse assignment is desirable. Plant certification is desirable. Knowledge of discipline engineering principles, practices, and theories and methods to identify and solve standard to highly complex problems and perform sophisticated analyses. Advanced knowledge of related discipline principles is also required. Computer skills, including complex methods used for problem solving. Effective communication skills are required to relate to a wide variety of backgrounds. Ability to provide strong technical leadership.
