Description The Medical Assistant Apprentice (MA-A) observes and participates in a variety of clinical experiences to assist in providing patient care in an assigned clinical setting and perform related duties as assigned. This position is for currently enrolled Medical Assistant students in an accredited program. This position functions under the supervision of a Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) preceptor and within the scope of practice of the MA-R, as defined by the Washington Administrative Code (WAC). MA-As are responsible for providing direct patient care and will practice up to the skills learned and approved to practice. MA-As will apply current healthcare concepts and assist with routine or general clinical responsibilities that may contribute directly and indirectly to patient care under the supervision of the MA-C or Provider. May work up to the documented level of academic and clinical competence accomplished in the individual's Medical Assistant Apprentice program. Required Qualifications: Requires current enrollment in an accredited Medical Assisting program as a student in good standing. Once hired into the position, must maintain current enrollment, remain in good standing, and maintain a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire. One module or one quarter of the Medical Assistant program must be completed before date of hire into the position. Why Join Providence?
