Youable Emotional Health Job Description Job Title: Outpatient Mental Health Therapist, Hope Street (Part Time) Reports To: Director, Clinical Services FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Purpose Statement The Outpatient Mental Health Therapist makes a difference in helping clients work on their mental health goals with a variety of techniques at Hope Street, a Minneapolis-based shelter for young adults aged 18-24. The role serves our community with humility and respect, taking a strengths-based perspective and by seeing people as capable of being emotionally healthy. Providing therapy creates a deep personal connection to the members of the community and works on a team where different perspectives are shared and valued. Essential Functions Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates mental health services for clients. Conducts diagnostic assessments and develops related treatment plans. Provides ongoing therapy with clients, developing effective therapeutic relationships providing individual therapy, conducting diagnostic assessments, and completing individualized treatment planning and interventions. Uses cultural competency, evidence-based practices, and will be fully engaged to learn in a collaborative team environment, reflecting the integrity of Youable's strengths-based perspective. Maintains ongoing and timely documentation of services. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and Experience Master's degree in psychology, marriage and family therapy, social work, or related field. Mental health professional licensure (LP, LPCC, LMFT, or LICSW) licensure preferred. Interest in working with diverse clients. Organizational skills to complete documentation. Ability to work some evenings when clients are available. Awareness of effective therapeutic modalities. Experience completing diagnostic assessments and treatment plans preferred. Skills and Abilities Proven ability to establish and maintain positive rapport with a diverse variety of clients and professionals. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build relationships. Proficient computer skills in Word and Excel programs. High degree of organization and ability to work independently and take initiative. Demonstrated attention to detail, as well as to identify and address larger systematic issues. Ability to manage time efficiently to ensure paperwork and billing are on time and completed correctly. Proficient knowledge and understanding of the clinical work done in a community-based mental health center. Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, identify strengths in individuals and systems, and positively motivate others. Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment, with the ability to think on one's feet during a crisis. Physical Demands/Environmental Factors Exposure to fragrances and other environmental elements that may affect a chemical sensitivity. Interaction with a range of personalities and diverse individuals. Sitting for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
