This position will be based in Richardson, TX.

Travel for this position is 60% - 70%

Discover Impactful Work:

The Director PPI will facilitate implementation of the PPI Business System, including leading top sites and functional teams to enable profitable growth within the Materials and Structural Analyses Division (MSD). The position partners with several teams to build a quantified 12-month future state and kaizen plan through value stream mapping, and leading kaizen events to enable the teams to achieve their business goals and objectives. Lastly, it involves developing capability at various levels of the organization relative to PPI.

A Day in the Life:

  • Facilitate implementation and utilization of PPI across the 4 sites in North America to achieve targets in growth, quality, Customer Allegiance Score, cash flow and productivity.

  • Establish and mature the Lean Management System (tiered daily management systems, Gemba walks, and leader standard work (LSW)) and other coaching tools to transform the culture.

  • Drive PPI development of leaders, PPI practitioners and the general population. Drive continuous improvement and Standard Work across all organizational elements.

  • Partner with site leaders to create, standardize, and drive operating mechanisms that drive key performance indicators, accountability, and action planning to continually improve business performance.

  • Lead North America PPI Steering Committee to ensure there is an active pipeline of PPI projects aligned to business priorities, metrics and results. Ensure that there is a validated sustainability mechanism/review for past projects.

  • Lead overarching North America PPI reporting to the MSD Operations. Develop a PPI culture that emphasizes safety improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, science or business, Master’s degree is a plus.

  • Knowledge about problem solving, Lean concept, or other process improvement techniques. Six-sigma Black Belt or/and Lean Expertise is a prerequisite.

  • Knowledgeable lean practitioner with a confirmed experience with PPI as a Business System. Or comparable prior experience working in the Toyota Production System (TPS), Danaher Business System (DBS), Honeywell Operating System (HOS), or other recognized Lean business system models.

  • 5+ years of operations and/or engineering experience working for a premier, multinational organization preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • A ‘hands-on’ track record of implementing successful Continuous Improvement (CI) elements such as:

  • Lean Leadership (Daily Management, LSW, and Gemba Walks). Strategy Deployment and Value-stream mapping leadership experience

  • Kaizen events including elements like standard work, cell design, process and product 3P, Value-Analysis/Value Engineering, error-proofing, material flow, Heijunka, and kanban.

  • Strong financial and statistics acuity with experience helping team build productivity funnels and active project decks to exceed targeted levels.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • A multidisciplinary problem solver who is effective in influencing leaders to develop groundbreaking target states and rapidly motivate change through the full organization.

  • The ability to independently own initiatives and drive execution through team and in a matrix reporting environment.

  • A strong change agent, a role model leader in demonstrating and promoting change and the capacity to mentor & facilitate teams.

  • Good project management skills.
